January 10th, 2007 Thought Iraq was a democracy now....? Listening to Bush, it seems  Iraq is not a democracy that he had peddled before. It seems he is dictating the terms if not imposing them on Iraq. No wonder we are looked upon as invaders. Let us now blame Iran and Syria. Another subterfuge to hide his own failures. Why were the patriot defense systems not deployed before? Support for the Iraqi government by the neighborly Arabs dictators or fiefdoms is not going to stabilize Iraq. While Bush's speech was a good sound byte but it was totally unrealistic. A speech that would had won him a prize in a debating society, but the realities on the ground in that region are different. Respect of human liberties, democracy, freedom sound great, while we sell those nostrums to the Iraqis, we Americans are loosing our freedoms and privacy at home in a very systematic way by the current Bush administration. An extra 20,000 men and women will not be able to bring peace. Iraqis insurgents will have 20,000 more targets to choose from. The word bipartisan is a joke, a slap in the face and playing Russian roulette with American lives in the name of security. Mr. President the soldiers and their families do not think that their cause in Iraq is noble. How many funerals have you attended? We would like to see your two daughter to be amongst the 20,000 soldiers there. While filling the pockets of your friends you have slashed the veteran benefits. Is that how you honor and reward the valiant soldiers who went to Iraq. War was never the vox populi and never will be. While Pelosi's statement of rejection is welcome, yet one wonders why have the democrats been silent for so long. Why have they not endeavored to bring impeachment proceedings. We are going through a very unique time in history. Much different then the two World Wars and then Vietnam. This is not a time for partisan politics. All Americans should join hands regardless of our affiliations and get the nation out of this rut that the current administration has plunged us into. Talking about fighting and coming home safely is an oxymoron. You can only fight safely and come home on a Hollywood movie set. Where the dead get to go home at the end of the day. In Iraq the bullets are real, the bad guys are real and motivated. We are the invaders frame it anyway you like. If our only  motive was to kill Saddam, then he was the most expensive kill in history. Are we going to take out other dictators, and kings around the world so that the people can be free? Senator Barak Obama agreeing with President Bush will certainly create problems for him in the event he becomes the President. Senator McCaine sounded pretty honest in his comments, as did John Edwards. . January 9th, 2007 Changing team captain and Coach in the middle of game Who changes a team captain or Coach in the middle of the game? Though the Iraq war is not a game, yet the way we are changing Generals can be very demoralizing for the soldiers in the trenches. Morale in war travels top down. General Abizaid was a General who spoke fluent Arabic, understood the realities on the ground better. Unfortunately he was forced into retirement. The only persons to be changed should be the CnC (Commander in Chief). Condi should, go, so should Dick. If the Democrats are not starting impeachment proceedings against the President, then surely that is tantamount to the Democrats endorsing the actions of President Bush in particular and the Republican party in general. Though not all Republicans endorsed the war in all fairness. Clamour for the Iraqi War has becoming so deafening that we are forgetting Afghanistan. While Karzai is being propped up by US there is very little we are doing in Afghanistan. Talabans seems to be flourishing in Afghanistan, by taking up poppy farming and producing opium and heroine that will filter down to our economy. January 8th, 2007 Apprentice Taking a break from Politics. Watched the TV show Apprentice, basically fast forwarded through it, wondering why should one waste time, watching Donald Trump choose employees for his kids. Yes I am guilty of watching it too. Its one of those things one does and later regrets for wasting time. BTW his daughter did come across as pretty dumb. Enough said other then that the show is becoming cheezy. January 6th, 2007    278 fallen soldiers ordered to report for duty ...... 2:55 am - What is the value of human life? $12,000 that is what the State Department gives to the family of a fallen soldier. We are all aware that veteran benefits have been significantly cut ever since the war began.  Recently 278 dead received letters to report for duty. Is there any other way one could insult the families who gave their loved ones to the Iraqi war. Words fail to express the dismay at such stupidity. January 3rd, 2007 – Ford, Saddam, Pat Robertson and Delta Airlines This is the return journey to the Big Apple aka New York. TSA agents in Appleton were very courteous and polite, never the less thorough as they should be. Was it mid western politeness? I did pack my shaving cream and sent other liquid items via FedEx. I am in no mood to provide free toiletries to TSA agents. Not to belabor the point, who ever delineated the size of liquid, jells or creams is not in touch with reality. Having said that, let’s focus on Pat fucking Robertson. For 2007 he forecasts a terrorist attack on the USA, and the casualty count will be high. Is Pat playing the probability game in his prediction? Probably Pat Robertson has a secret connection with the terrorist organizations around the world.  Who could be consulting with Pat and seek his unholy blessings? After all Pat Robertson predicted a tsunami in the USA. Guess even Pat’s God did not agree and we were spared a tsunami here. As President Gerald Ford, the 38th president of USA is being eulogized, there are kind words being spoken about the politeness of the dead dictator of Iraq aka President Saddam Hussein, who is said to have thanked his captors, doctors and guards. Has Bushie (President Bush ) created a hero out of a murderer. After Saddam’s hanging, probably the hang mans noose is going to travel around the Middle Eastern countries that have and are suppressing democracy. Weakening of Iraq and empowering the Shia militia in Iraq by George Bush has created a situation along the borders of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey and Kuwait, that may create a potential state of unrest in those countries. Middle East is awakening, and the people of the region clamoring for their rights. Will President Ford and Saddam Hussein meet in the after life?  If they do, what will they say to each other?  Two leaders, two different paths … to the same destiny in eternity? Today let us all salute a local hero Mr. Autrey, a father who risked his life to save the life of another male who had fallen on the subway tracks in New York, after suffering a seizure. It’s such random acts of heroic kindness to strangers that reaffirms ones faith in the innate kindness of the human soul. 3:53 pm Cincinnati - Still sitting at Cincinnati Airport listening to Delta Air lie that there are dangerously fast winds at Newark Airport, as such my flight can not take off. Does Delta Air realize that one can easily confirm if there are flights taking off from Newark or not? Guess one has to grimace and accept the blatant lie. There is no recourse even if one complains. I would like Delta and airlines in general to be upfront and say that they are just running late. January 1st, 2007 - Happy New Year to all President Bush there are 3000 plus of US soldiers dead as a result of your lies. History will judge you in its own time, but how can you sleep at night? Do you hear a baby cry out for their parents, do you hear the sobs of a mother, the sadness in a fathers eyes, the desolation in a wife, husband, brother, or sisters face, that was caused by your lies. The chaos you have globally created with your lapdog ( Tony Blair ) will smolder for decades to come. When the dust settles who knows what the count of dead, maimed and wounded will be? May all the names of the dead and maimed be added in your biography by historians. Vietnam was a different war, guess we did not learn our lesson from the French in Vietnam.
