May 15th, 2006  Cake and marriage.
Overheard -A group of friends were discussing the life of their friend and marriages he had had. One sentence summed it all up. The cake for the first wedding was better then the marriage but the second marriage seems to be lasting... so far ...... as everyone broke up in laughter. Some friends!
Hey we came across this capital punishment cartoon on how to punish a fundamentalist, religious or political hypocrite. We know the content is a bit too adult but get over it.

May 14th, 2006 Happy mothers day and zip up we know we have been hibernating
Yes we have been happily hibernating with our ears open and in a self induced hibernation that has the pleasure of swaying in hammock with a smile without any Cabana girls or boys... sigh, never the less a happy state of mind. The cat purred in the tree and the dog wagged his tail as we indulged in the lackadaisical stupor of doing nothing. Then the newsflash that dogs are being allowed into restaurants, because the patrons call them as emotional support dogs, cats or goats perked us all up of free air travel.

"The increasing appearance of pets whose owners say they are needed for emotional support in restaurants — as well as on airplanes, in offices and even in health spas — goes back, according to those who train such animals, to a 2003 ruling by the Department of Transportation. It clarified policies regarding disabled passengers on airplanes, stating for the first time that animals used to aid people with emotional ailments like depression or anxiety should be given the same access and privileges as animals helping people with physical disabilities like blindness or deafness.

The following year appellate courts in New York State for the first time accepted tenants' arguments in two cases that emotional support was a viable reason to keep a pet despite a building's no-pets policy. Word of the cases and of the Transportation Department's ruling spread, aided by television and the Internet. Now airlines are grappling with how to accommodate 200-pound dogs in the passenger cabin and even emotional-support goats. And businesses like restaurants not directly addressed in the airline or housing decisions face a newly empowered group of customers seeking admittance with their animals." (New York Times - May 14th, 2006 )".

Hotels and Airlines are now flying dogs, cats and goats in some instances for free in the cabin. What a comfort for pet owners and what a discomfort when the freaking poodle of your neighborly passenger is humping your leg or decides to pee. Not to mention goat dropiings in the isles. Sounds like Noah's Ark, but this time there are no floods,( only in New Orleans) just hopping cities or continents. Go figure. Guess we need a new version of Hay Diddle Diddle. It should go something like

Hey you piddling wiggling poodle
The cat and her allergen loaded fur
The goat jumped over my spoon
The other brat laughed
To see such stupid human sport
And the dog ran away with my lunch bone.

We are still working on the above rhyme. Yeah the war on Iraq rages on as Prez Bush  and Iranian Prez exchange barbs. Immigrants are up in arms, politicians are wondering how to pander to the new immigrant voters, Bushe ratings are at its lowest and ya di ya id ya for now and my cat can fly for free ...yippee.

March 5th, 2006 Musharraf gets shafted
For Musharraf of Pakistan to hold on to power will become increasingly difficult in light of the many concessions and incentives given to India. For decades Pakistan had begged for  F-16 but during this historic visit the US offered F-16 and F-18 fighter planes to India along with nuclear technology. Basically Prez Bush started a second round of arms race in the Indo-Pakistan subcontinent. Musharraf has an impossible task at hand in explaining to the Pakistani people the reason for his loyalty.

February 22nd, 2006 Bumblers and alarmists
We should support our Prez in allowing an Emirates company to manage our ports. All politicians and groups that are opposing this deal are short sighted and basing their objections not in patriotism but pure sensationalism. This International Company has a good track record and is Arab owned. Being an Arab owned company should not be a disqualifier. While our politicians are pandering to special interest groups under the cloak of patriotism and security, but the truth is this particular Emirates company is being opposed because of its Arab roots. The ramification of denying an Arab company would be far more then we are willing to accept. How would our trade be affected if all Arab countries refuse to buy American manufactured products. Instead of buying Boeing airplanes, the orders go to Airbus. Lastly if we hate the Arabs so much why do we love their oil so much? Could the Arabs retaliate by raising the price of oil or for that matter refusing to export to us? This UAE company poses no security risk since the oversight rests with us and they are willing to abide by all rules and regulations.  If we are an international economy then we should act like one. On this one Mr. Bush is taking the right decision to permit the sale.

February 21st, 2006 Free Speech - Crazy Austrians
What is happening to free speech? David Irving, a historian was sentenced to prison for denying the holocaust. Seems Austrian law is as silly as the denial of holocaust by David Irving. Mr. Irving's denial of the Holocaust, does not mean holocaust did not happen, but projects his ignorance, however he has the right to speak freely what he thinks without fear of reprisal. While we want to protect the rights of Danish caricaturist, as free speech and freedom of  press, yet the world is imprisoning people who hold a divergent historical view. Should all revisionist of history be imprisoned? Next we shall be hearing from the Muslims to be accorded the same protection as the Jews in the European Union, against publishing any sentiment or uttering that is 'anti-interest' of that particular group. Does that mean any thing anti Semitic, anti Muslim or anti Christian will carry a punishment of imprisonment? In the arena of free speech everything should be game. No nation, group, tribe or religion has the right to seal anyone's lips.

February 18th, 2006 Cooking on TV
We all have watched TV cooking shows one time or the other. Probably we watch them when we are feeling hungry and too lazy to cook, and after the show, end up ordering in. Most of the Chefs on TV are pretty heavy/fat/ or gros  or grasso as the French or Italians would put it. We in the US are so timid and tremble under the fear of political correctness that God forbid we call someone fat. Enough of that back to TV cooking. Some recopies look very good and appetizing and others are blah. However at the end of each recipe one notices how the cook/chef and the helper or moderator will take a bite of the cooked recipe and give out a ummmmmmm tastes so good comment, even before they have had the chance to bite into it or roll the flavors around in their mouths. Now that is one of my pet peeves when I watch a food channel. Those feigned sounds of delectability of the recipe without ever fully tasting is similar to feigned Orgasms in skin flicks or the oh baby baby lilts of ones lover faking one.. Now if anyone contends that they have not seen a skin flick like that, you need to be sent to Guantanamo immediately till you can tell the truth. Have you noticed that the Orgasmic guttural primal sounds of passion start emanating from the lips of actors way before the act is consumed. Their eyes always hit the back of their heads and seem to be bouncing the moment the director says action. You got my point? To taste something fully one needs to take a mouth full and gently roll the food around as one bites into it. Only then can you feel the texture, taste and the aromas of the food. Lastly I do enjoy watching the food channel esp. on NPR when Jacque Pepin is cooking. Jacque not only is a great Chef, but an artist and he does not  do the umm umm stuff and roll his eyes. Lastly bon appetit in your passions and all those TV moderators are no bon vivants but fakes. Please email us if you can find the Dick Cheney quail cooking recipie.

February 17th, 2006 Winter Olympics
Seems all eyes are focused on Dick, wonder if anyone is paying attention to the Olympics and how the US teams are petering out in Italy. Wonder if the Muslims are still going crazy protesting about the Danish caricatures. Wonder where that is going to end up. However seems like its a minority of yahoo's who are getting a lot of press coverage.

Titbit => If you get blisters while wearing new shoes here is suggestion, athletes use it regularly so you might as well give it a try. If you experience blisters from new shoes, instead of using band-aid, try using 'Bodyglide" where you feel the shoe rubbing against your foot/toes.

February 16th, 2006 Dick - Duck or Ted Kennedy

Now what happens if the wounded duck quacks (dies)? Would it be man slaughter  by Dick as Ted shakes his finger at him? Latest news no charges will be filed against Dick for shooting, Whittington who still is in intensive care. Will someone else tell us why Dick is not being charged?

While we are on the topic of Dick can someone pass a bill on junk mail especially dealing with Viagra  i.e erections and anti erection drugs. This is what I found in my email today, go figure ....What are you to do if you have bad erection? Especially in the forthcoming Saint Valentines Day??? Don t worry, it is not the last of pea-time...  The most simple way is to visit our site, order the medication and that is all you are to do! Do not kill the clock!

February 15th, 2006 Cisco, Yahoo, Microsoft. Google - anti free speech
What is more important, profits or principles of free speech?. Cisco one of the largest providers of routers to the world is engaging in practices that are helping the Chinese clamp down on expression of free speech. Similarly Microsoft, Yahoo and Google are engaging in censorship by filtering content that is available to Chinese users of the internet. To make things even worst Yahoo has been charged for supplying names to the Chinese Government who using/visiting certain sites. Microsoft or Mr. Softieee has given a list of all the blogers to the Chinese resulting in the arrest of countless people. Should American companies stand up for free speech or should they just chase profits? If chasing profits is the goal then going into Iraq is justified since Halliburton is making tons of money.

Abu Gharib torture  images re emerge, making a fragile situation brittle. Aussies are being blamed for showing them on TV. Is freedom of information policy applied clearly and fairly regardless of our interests? This article was never reported by our media. Massacre survivors want Sharon to suffer.

Give Dick a break he was shooting birds to prevent bird flu, and his friend certainly bore some similarity to a bird. Thus bang bang. If his friend dies, will the VP be charged with manslaughter?.a reader asked.

February 13th, 2006 Dick shoots man instead of "Quail"
A man responsible to take us to war cannot differentiate between a bird and a human. Could it be the VP was trying shoot Dan Quayle, after the last names rhyme. What a bizarre accident based on carelessness, and so is the Iraq war.

Its sad when politics creeps into art. " Diplomats and Jewish groups are lobbying organisers of next month's Academy Awards not to present a nominated film about Palestinian bombers (Paradise Now) as coming from Palestine, an Israeli newspaper reports." Why can't we leave art from the poisonous tentacles of politics and special interests.

Today New York is digging out from two feet of snow. Wonder if this will be the last winter dump.

January 16th, 2006 Paradise Now - winds of change
Paradise Now, a movie about Palestine and Palestinian people was awarded the Golden Globe, amidst great applause. A lot of great actors and actresses were honored along with other fantastic shows. But this particular award caught our eye and attention. Does that mean the winds of change have finally started to blow from the Sahara to the Euphrates as they move on embracing the heights of the Hindukush mountains of Afghanistan. Historically wars and victories have been fought and won on the screen, before any real world change. What does this award signify?

January 14th, 2006 Earthquake Pakistan
Snows have been falling in the mountains/earthquake ravaged areas of Pakistan. Yet there are areas which are not accessible and aid has not fully reached them. Time is an enemy of these earthquake victims from two fronts. Delay in help will kill them and with time they will be forgotten and appear as a foot note in media. World attention will be diverted. Its unimaginable to even comprehend that even today there are kids walking barefooted in the snow for lack of aid. This kid is waiting for help. Will we all let him and many like this child down? The kids and adults of this earthquake, need shoes, gloves, socks, caps and parkas to stay warm. If you are interested in donating please keep the following things in mind when sending these items.
Sneakers or boots are best suited for that type of terrain.. No high heels
Track suits, because of the type of clothes they wear, skirts, trousers would be a waste.
Parkas, long coats, scarves, gloves and socks/thermal socks would be helpful and very important.
Blankets, or any polar fleece items, that can dry quickly.

January 13th 2006 US Airways and et al
We have been talking a lot about politics and politicians and their morality and till now been giving a free ride to corporations, that seem to be engulfing consumers/customers in an "octopussian" clutch that one can't get out off. Should one thank the special interest groups or the laziness of customers, the inability  to act and vote with their dollars, to send a message. When Dollars scream everyone hears. Play cards and speeches are a waste of time. Apart from receiving different types of amendments to credit card rules, with one sided stipulations and raising interest rates to 29 percent is unforgivable. We all have been silent and paying the piper without a word of protest.

We were infuriated to read the letter received by US Airways about the reward miles that we had been so meticulously saving for some day, to a paradise vacation spot, saying that since we have not used/traveled on US Airways the saved miles will be cancelled if not redeemed by February 15th or travel by that date. Isn't that called coercion. We shall not talk about their poor service, but how dare the y take a unilateral decision. Instead of motivating us and all those who have received such "Final notices", we are determined not to fly US Airways at all. We say US Airways and any other airlines that follows this line of rules sucks.

Wonder who the followers of Pat Robertson are. He is a religious racist, a bigot, preaching religious superiority over all other belief systems in the world. His shallow view, interpretation of  religions and religious beliefs puts him in the moribund category of fanatic fundamentalists like Osama bin Laden. Pat Robertson has made defamatory comments about Muslims, Jews and one of his best fortes is to insult and then apologize.

January 5th, 2006 Miners mourned
One wonders about the absence of proper ventilation systems in this mine. If this mine was so deep why weren't there any protective chambers established where miners could huddle till rescue came. Shouldn't there had been any escape shafts. Its a sad way to die, because some one was negligent.

We shall be changing the layout of this page this year and shall continue to have a say on everything that catches our fancy and shall continue to challenge the status quo.
